21 Reflection on Undergraduate Research Experience – Sarah Haysley

This is easily one of the best academic and career experiences I have been a part of. I truly value the perspectives of research and interdisciplinary collaboration that I gained from the SPUR [Summer Program for Undergraduate Research] program. This program allowed me to participate in research more than the typical undergraduate program would allow. My mentor dedicated lots of time to answer my questions and develop research ideas with me. As a student who is not from the University of Utah, this program was valuable because it allowed me to evaluate this university as a prospective graduate school in a hands-on experience.
