Now that you know some background info and have narrowed your topic, try out one of these databases. Though they all cover a variety of topics, they often contain slightly different sources or draw sources from different periods of time.

ProQuest Central

This multidisciplinary resource contains access to scholarly journals, book reviews, magazine articles, newspaper articles, books, videos, and trade publications in English and a wide variety of other languages. This resource is a great place to start research.

JSTOR

A comprehensive archive of multidisciplinary scholarly journals and books. Coverage: 1800s to 3-5 years ago.

Gale In Context

Opposing Viewpoints Contextual information and opinions on hundreds of today’s hottest social issues.

CQ Researcher

Provides in-depth authoritative reports on a range of political and social-policy issues. Reports are sourced and include an overview, background section, chronology, bibliography and a debate-style pro-con feature. Coverage is October 1991 to present.
