Thinking and Intelligence

This unit includes the following chapters.

“Introduction” is an introduction to high-level cognitive processes.

“What is Cognition” describes cognition, distinguishes concepts and prototypes, explains the difference between natural and artificial concepts, describes how schemata are organized and constructed.

“Language” defines language, explains the components of language, explains the development of language, explains the relationship between language and thinking.

“What are Intelligence and Creativity” defines intelligence, explains the triarchic theory of intelligence, identifies the difference between intelligence theories, explains emotional intelligence, defines creativity.

“Critical Thinking Questions” gives a list of critical thinking questions.

“The Source of Intelligence” describes how genetics and environment affect intelligence, explains the relationship between IQ scores and socioeconomic status, describes the difference between a learning disability and a developmental disorder.

“Personal Application Questions” gives a list of personal application questions.

“Review Questions” gives unit review questions.
