Banner is the interface that handles all your personal information for education, as well as information about your classes. You can access Banner from USU’s USU Banner Links page; select the “Banner Dashboard” link on this page.
CIDI
The Center for Innovative Design and Instruction (CIDI) helps university instructors create and maintain high quality learning environments. We provide access to practical tools, relevant data, prompt and effective support, consultation, and hands-on training. (CIDI Website)
The CIDI website provides helpful links for instructors seeking guidance in developing their Canvas pages. They provide a variety of services:
- Live Chat Help (Canvas, Kaltura, Proctored Testing, and WebEx);
- Ways to Keep Teaching During an Emergency;
- Canvas Help Guides (instructional videos on how to operate Canvas);
- My Media Help;
- WebEx Video Conferencing Help;
- Scheduling an Appointment with a CIDI Team Member;
- Access to the Empowering Teaching Excellence course and conferences;
- Audio/Video Studio Reservations

Canvas Help
If you need help creating content or using Canvas, you can access CIDI’s Canvas resource page. You can also set up a faculty consultation from the CIDI website.
CIDI can help you with a wide range of Canvas tasks, including the following:
- Using syllabus templates
- Send messages to students
- Converting PDFs to accessible Canvas pages
- Add images to a Canvas page
- Using Design Tools
- Creating new assignments
- Record grades in Canvas
- Import content from another Canvas Course
- Add files to the course
- Add a link to a web site
BOX File Storage
USU uses Box for its file management system. Box operates similarly to Dropbox. Students can sign up for a Box account accessed from any Internet browser. You can also install Box on your computer and sync files between computers (similar to Dropbox). Graduate students have a 5-gigabyte storage limit on Box and 5T through OneDrive (Microsoft). You can share files/folders with anyone at USU and anyone outside of USU who has a Box account

Accessing University Software on a Personal Computer

ServiceNow is the portal for completing administrative forms and requests, including Travel Authorization, Travel Reimbursement, Graduate Student Advising forms (thesis proposal, program of study, thesis defense, etc.), and facility maintenance requests.
