A GIship pays an annual salary, a tuition waiver, and graduate student health insurance. GIs teach two courses each semester (2/2 load) and perform other responsibilities. Compensation is usually received biweekly on the 10^th and 25^th. The English Department provides a pay breakdown in a Graduate Assistantship Calculation Excel sheet.

Working Additional Hours

The GI contract is for 20 hours of work per week, and GIs cannot work more than four additional hours at any university unit. You must disclose any other form of employment to the DOC and the DGS.
