12 Identifying Your Strengths

Young person looking up at the words "What are your strengths?"

Before you can leverage your strengths, you need to know what they are. It’s time to discover what makes you uniquely you!

Take the VIA Strengths Survey. Be sure to take a screenshot of your results for future reference.

After taking the VIA Strengths survey, reflect on the following questions:

  • Review the results from your VIA Strengths survey and analyze what you found. Do you agree or disagree? Why or why not? Are the results different from what you expected?
  • Reflect on one or more of your strengths. What strengths will you need to achieve your goals? How might you leverage your existing or desired strengths to achieve your goals? Why might it benefit you to focus on your existing or desired strengths as opposed to your weaknesses?
  • How might what you learned about yourself in this exercise affect your approach(es) to learning moving forward? Reflect on likely situation(s) in your own experiences where these strengths will be an asset
