I am immeasurably happy with my decision to get involved in research during my undergraduate education. Not only have I gained and honed core research skills, I also have a greater understanding of the research process and a greater confidence in myself as a potential future researcher. I am currently applying to graduate programs to pursue clinical neuropsychology as a career path. Without the research experience I’ve gained as an undergraduate here at the U I would not be a competitive applicant nor have the needed exposure to research before starting a PhD. I ultimately intend to conduct research on the populations I work with clinically as a neuropsychologist, and I’m grateful to have started my research experience as an undergraduate when students at other institutions aren’t as readily given this opportunity. I’m especially thankful for Dr. Inman who took a chance on me as a freshman allowing me to join his lab and get involved with the amazing work the INMAN lab produces, and to his graduate students who I’ve had the pleasure of working with.
