Undergraduate research was a pathway altering experience for me. I began my work in my lab freshman year and it allowed me to explore different pathways available to me early on and allowed me to shift my goals from pursing medical school to apply to PhD programs and go to graduate school in geology instead. I fell in love with the research process and am so grateful for the opportunity to participate in it early.
