My dream is to become a victim advocate, and this two-year research project has been instrumental in shaping that goal. Through an in-depth study of traumatic memory and trauma-informed care, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of how to support victims with compassion and empathy. Leading every stage of the research process-from data collection to transcription and analysis-has strengthened my ability to work independently and think critically. This experience has also helped me develop essential skills for conducting meaningful, impactful work in the field of criminal justice. Throughout my research, I’ve found it inspiring to learn about the progress being made within the justice system to improve outcomes for victims. This work has reinforced my belief that I can be part of that progress and truly make a difference.
