My undergraduate research at the Maliheh Free Clinic has profoundly influenced my education and career aspirations. I explored Narrative Medicine and its storytelling’s role in enhancing patient care and strengthening provider-patient relationships. This research deepened my understanding of healthcare disparities, particularly the challenges faced by underserved communities in accessing quality medical care. This research equipped me with valuable skills in qualitative analysis, patient-centered methodologies, and cross-cultural communication. It reinforced my passion for integrating social determinants of health into medical practice and strengthened my commitment to advocacy and compassionate care. This experience has provided me with a strong foundation in healthcare equity and narrative-based medicine, preparing me to serve as a dedicated physician assistant, ensuring equitable and compassionate care for underserved communities.
