As an international student who majors in Psychology and minors in Writing and Rhetoric Studies, I have always wondered how social media plays a fundamental role in people’s lives. Through observations of the world around me, I realized that many of my friends use Twitter to enjoy their K-pop more, which plays a vital role in international culture these days. I have done a literature review and online research to explore the K-pop fan culture on Twitter and gained meaningful insights into its impacts on a global scale. I believe that this research experience has helped me become a critical thinker who analyzes the international industry from multiple perspectives, which connects to my future goals of achieving global citizenship and contributing to diversity by connecting people across different cultures. I have a passion for connecting people together across cultures and this research has been one of my baby steps towards the goals.
