73 Research Reflection by MiKaela Field

Faculty Mentor: Sheri Holmen (Huntsman Cancer Institute, University of Utah)

I have worked with my mentor, Sheri L. Holmen, PhD, for around two years in her lab at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Working in her lab has given me an appreciation for the time and effort that goes into research, and aided in my overall understanding of science. Outside of research, working under Dr. Holmen has shown me the value of working with mentors that are willing to help you reach any goal you set for yourself. My future goals are to attend medical school with the hopes of becoming a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist. However, my time in research has pushed me to consider applying to MD-PhD programs and continue my education in research as well.
