My undergraduate research experience has been far beyond what I expected. Going into research, I had no idea what would come or what truly was behind “undergraduate research”. Little did I know it would have one of the most profound effects on my undergraduate education and future careers. Through my lab, I have had incredible opportunities that have provided me with a wealth of skills and insights. I have had experiences with problem solving, collaboration, manuscript writing, surgery, and a variety of others that have changed my perception of how I learn and want to gain a future education. Undergraduate research has sparked a passion for inquiry and lifelong learning that will be important throughout my future career in the medical field and in any other position of life.
