My research experience at the University of Utah has personally been transformative due to the exceptional opportunities and support I had to engage in biomedical research. Initiatives such as the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) have helped support my time spent on undergraduate research and opened up additional opportunities. I not only learned new research skills, but I also got to share my research with others. As I pursue a career as a physician, these communication skills, practiced through presentation opportunities, will be invaluable for the relationships I build with future patients and research endeavors. I have deep appreciation and gratitude for the Office of Undergraduate Research, the Computational Electrocardiology Group under the guidance of Dr. Rob MacLeod, and his team of PhD students and postdocs at the SCI Institute for their support in helping me develop my passion for advancing scientific knowledge and innovation.
