Part 3: Evaluating Sources
Introduction to Evaluating Sources
As you search, you should evaluate all the information you find. Books, articles, and web sites are created by people with a wide range of experiences, knowledge, and opinions. The information you come across could be biased, inaccurate, or outdated.
In this section you will learn to:
- Distinguish between types of sources and begin thinking about their uses in your research
- Evaluate information using the SIFT method
After you learn to evaluate your sources, you’ll learn more about citing these sources in Part 4.
