Step 7: Team Discussion and Decision

Team discussions are highly valuable. You should discuss the horse with all potential users, including trainers, program directors, and anyone else you deem necessary to be involved in the decision. While discussions can undoubtedly lead to too many opinions, it is helpful to keep the key players in mind. There should always be one person designated as the ultimate decision-maker in cases of mixed views. Record the team’s decision at the bottom of the Prospective Horse Evaluation form.
