Evaluation Dialogue Between Doctor-Patient:
Doctor Good morning. How can I help you?
Patient Doctora, tengo un callo en la planta del pie, llevo un año yendo al podólogo y no se resuelve. Además, me ha empezado a doler al andar.
Doctor Apart from going to the podiatrist, have you applied any medication?
Patient Sí, me he puesto un líquido que me dieron en la farmacia para callos, pero no me ha hecho nada.
Doctor Is there anything else on the rest of your foot you’d like to look at?
Patient No, solo eso.
Doctor Take your shoes off and show me the soles of your feet, please.
Doctor You have two plantar warts. They are caused by the human papillomavirus.
Mother ¿Y eso es grave?
Doctor No, don’t worry. We’ll do the first treatment session using cryotherapy today.
Patient ¿Y en qué consiste?
Doctor It consists of freezing the lesions with liquid nitrogen spray for a few seconds. It’s a bit uncomfortable.
Patient Perfecto.
Doctor After the cryosurgery, the two lesions will swell up, and you may get a blister. You should wash them twice a day with soap and water, thoroughly dry them, and apply a touch of Iodine or Chlorhexidine.
Patient Vale. Perfecto. ¿Me tumbo en la camilla?
Doctor Yes, please.
