Good morning. How are you feeling? |
Patient |
Hola, doctora. |
Doctor |

Patient |
No, nada. |
Doctor |
Do you smoke, drink, or take any drugs? |
Patient |
Doctor |
Do you have any serious illnesses? Are you on treatment or have you had any surgeries? |
Patient |
Doctor |
Very well. Have you had any problems with anesthesia or surgery on those occasions? Have any family members had problems with anesthesia? |
Patient |
Doctor |

Doctor |
Try biting your upper lip with your lower teeth. |
Doctor |
Do you have any prosthetic teeth or teeth that move or are in bad condition? |
Patient |
Doctor |
You will have to take it out before the procedure. You have to fast for 6 hours prior to the operation. You can take an anxiolytic the night before and the morning of to calm your nerves. |
Patient |
Y doctora, ¿qué tipo de anestesia me van a hacer? |
Doctor |
You’ll see there are multiple ways we can anesthetize you for this operation. One option is general anesthesia and the other is spinal anesthesia. The anesthesiologist working that day will explain the benefits and disadvantages of each, and will tell you the best option for your situation. |
Patient |
Muchas gracias, doctora. |
