This is how an ODS course relates to development shells.

An ODS or Ongoing Development Shell provides a place for faculty to share and update course materials away from their live semester courses.

Faculty may want to capture ideas and updates for their courses as the semester progresses, or departments may want all faculty teaching a particular course to use the same course materials. An ODS facilitates this.
