ID Training Quality Review

QR Prep Checklist

The following is a brief checklist/review of what is covered in the ID Quality Review Training. This is what you need to make sure you cover in your Quality Reviews.

  1. Send files to the remediation team.
Go through all the files and send files that need remediation to the remediation team. This process can take some time, so it’s best to get started right away!
  2. Apply common navigation.
Apply the template where needed. Sometimes this will mean making judgement calls about what goes on each page. There aren’t always clear answers.
  3. Add the secondary department marks.
Add these marks to the bottom of the overview, home, and syllabus pages (wherever the UVU horizontal logo is). The marks can be found in the Marketing SharePoint.
  4. Look for accessibility issues and potential copyright problems.
    • Do the images have alt text where necessary?
    • Do the videos all have captions?
    • Are all links descriptive?
    • Does color contrast seem sufficient?
    • Does a file or link seem like it might not be useable under fair use/the TEACH act?
  5. Clean up the left-hand navigation on the settings page.
    Include at least the following:

    • Home
    • Announcements
    • Modules (unless Home is set to the Modules page)
    • Grades
    • People
    • Library Resources
  6. Delete unneeded pages, assignments, or quizzes.
Delete any pages, assignments, or quizzes that should be deleted. (So, for example, any pages that say [DELETE] in the page title get deleted.)
  7. Use the link validator.
After running the link validator, fix all broken links/images. Repeat this process until the validator comes up clear.
  8. Organize the assignments/gradebook.
Put the assignments into logical groups and organize them by when they will appear in the course. Doing this will organize the gradebook in the same way.Example: You could organize them by module, by type, etc.
  9. Organize the course files.
Create new folders as needed and organize the files in a way that makes sense for the course.Example: You could organize them by module, by overarching unit, by file type, etc.
