Mary-Jean (Gigi) Austria is a dedicated nursing professional with a BSN from the University of Alberta and an MS in Nursing Education from the University of Utah. With a strong background in oncology nursing and over 16 years of experience in nursing education and leadership, Gigi has a passion for advancing nursing practice and fostering excellence in healthcare. Currently, she serves as the Magnet Program Director for University of Utah Health, where she leads initiatives to achieve and sustain nursing excellence across the organization.

Tallie Casucci, MLIS

Tallie Casucci is a librarian specializing in STEM research and teaching topics, including literature reviews (systematic and scoping reviews), evidence-based practice, intellectual property (patents and trademarks), biomedical entrepreneurship, and library-related research, collections, and services. Tallie serves on the University of Utah’s Evidence Based Practice Committee. She frequently guest lectures and meets with people to help them develop EBP research questions and search the literature.
Cassidy Kotobalavu, MS, RN, OCN

Cassidy Kotobalavu MS, RN, OCN is a Nurse Manager at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) at University of Utah Health in Salt Lake City, Utah. Prior to her role as Nurse Manager, she worked as a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (NPDP) and coordinated the Huntsman Oncology Nurse Residency (HONR) program. Prior to entering nursing education, Cassidy was a clinical nurse on the Bone Marrow Transplant/Hematology Inpatient Unit, and a clinical educator for the Medical Oncology Inpatient Unit at HCI. She serves on various committees throughout HCI and University of Utah Health, including co-chair of the Compassionate Workplace Committee. Cassidy is passionate about enhancing mentorship for oncology nurses and fortifying them with personal resilience and the ability to face inevitable challenges with strength and adaptability. She aspires to make a difference in the oncology nursing community and incorporate innovation, evidence-based practice, and excellence into the nursing profession. Outside of her professional life, Cassidy enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children that keep her very busy. She graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Utah, and maintains her Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) professional certification.
